Green Gas

Fossil fuels are not the only source of gas and fuel available for consumption. Modern technology is being focused on the world of algae as a possible source of green gas for the future. These little plants have a real potential for producing the required energy for a number of applications.

Green gas made from algae has many advantages over other sources such as soybeans and canola. Unlike these other sources, algae can be grown virtually anywhere, requiring only sunlight, water and carbon dioxide to flourish. And because it can be grown in an enclosed space, it would require a fraction of the land needed to create biofuels using soy or canola.

Green gas from algae is non-toxic, easily renewable and completely biodegradable. It is also one of the few possible bio-based fuel sources that have the potential to replace fossil-fuel based gasoline on a mass scale. Algae have been shown to have up to 60% oil within its biomass.
