Renewable Energy
Renewable energy is that which is created through sustainable means. These sources are replenished naturally and are not finite in their availability. Solar, wind, tides and geothermal are all examples of this type of energy source.
Wind power is one of the fastest growing sources of renewable energy. Some studies suggest it is growing at a rate of 30% annually. Wind farms have a tremendous potential for supplying clean, renewable power for millions of people around the world.
Most renewable energy sources are powered by the sun, either directly or indirectly. Both wind and tides are generated by solar radiation. Fossil fuels like oil even owe their existence to the sun, as the oil we pump from the ground was at one point, plant life.
